Integration and Engineering firm AGITO Global has appointed James Cotton as its new Managing Director for the UK, European and North American Markets.
AGITO Global designs, manufactures, integrates and maintains material handling systems for the Food and Beverage; Warehouse and Logistics; E-commerce; and Industrial sectors. The company was founded in 1979, and has more than 100 staff in locations across Australia, UK and Portugal. As part of its global expansion strategy, AGITO announced in 2022 it was entering into a Joint Venture with Hilton Food Group.

AGITO's CEO Michael Musca acknowledged that to continue to grow into the European market, AGITO needed to add local industry experience and proven senior leadership to achieve its long term strategy of global growth.

Musca said “Cotton would assume leadership of the UK and European business in all areas.” Meanwhile Musca, as CEO, will focus on AGITO's global Key Account development and growth strategy in North America.

James joins AGITO from Vanderlande Industries B.V, a global leader in the supply of logistics automation, where he held the role Executive Managing Director of the Global Warehouse Segment and led its International business since 2020. James led a global team of over 2000 employees and managed close to a £800M revenues from the Warehouse Segment annually. From 2015 to 2019, James played a pivotal role in leading and growing Vanderlande’s North American business, opening key account relationships with global players such as Amazon, Walmart and Vanity Fair and driving the business through a period of significant growth.

Prior to this, James held key positions in Europe, securing and delivering some of the largest projects in both the Airport and Warehouse segments in Europe, with a career spanning over 25 years in the industry. He has both an Engineering background and an MBA from Imperial College focused on Organisational Behaviour and Strategy.
